Evangelizers must not only think about what truth to proclaim, but also how they proclaim it. Storytelling is an especially constructive form of evangelization today because, if done well, it communicates truth without breaking down dialogue or relationships. It is invitational, nuanced, honest and deeply reflective of human nature.

– Do I, or have I ever considered framing my communications (pastoral letters, essays, digital content, preaching) using good storytelling techniques to create a more invitational dynamic?

– When I evangelize, do I consider how I am communicating, as much as what I am communicating?

– When sharing my own story of faith, do I include the complexities, nuances and contradictions?
